Why a Mudroom?
The top question people ask:Â Why is it called it a Mudroom?
The TurnerUX incorporates a mudroom system in the passageway between the porte-cochère, the covered entrance or porch attached to the entrance to the ‘High-End’ resort buildings that allows vehicles to pass through or park underneath to provide shelter and protect passengers from the weather as they get in or out of vehicles.Â
The Mudroom serves as the door to main entrance, intercepting dirt right at the vehicle entrance.
Life taught me that not everyone arrives knowing exactly where they’re headed.
Some people are looking for information.
Some are looking for belonging.
Some are looking for a fresh start.
And some are simply curious.
Way too many websites assume visitors already know what they want, but life doesn’t always work that way. Â
I wanted to create a place for people who are still figuring that out.
In 2006, after an on-duty collision, I found myself navigating a different path than the one I had planned. Some things became harder. Some things slowed down. Some things required me to learn entirely new ways of thinking and organizing information.
What I discovered along the way was that many people are carrying their own versions of that journey. Â
The Mudroom was never the destination, it was the place between outside and inside.
A place to pause.
Get your bearings.
And decide where you want to go next.
