A place for people who still believe community matters. Built originally here in Huntington Beach in the mid-1990s.
What began as a small “side-hustle” alongside a motor officer road patrol career grew out of a simple idea:
Safety, Service and Service to the local community first.
Tim O’Toole started Surf-Connection with making custom longboards, surfboard bags, surf photography, surf reports, and the quiet understanding shared between people who spend time in the ocean together.
Surfers understand this instinctively.
🌺You paddle out at your home break.
🌺You recognize familiar faces.
🌺You watch out for each other in the lineup.
Over time, those shared moments create a quiet kind of trust.
Then life happens, Right?
Family, Kids, Career, Trauma and Responsibility.
Well ‘Surf-Connection’ was placed on a shelf in the garage and slowly collected dust next to a old 10 ‘Carbonell’ longboard.
Until now.

In 2026, Surf-Connection began again… not as a business but…
As a place for people who still believe community matters, shelter within the harbor…
🌺Not algorithms.
🌺Not outrage.
🌺Not chasing attention.
People building something meaningful and real together — slowly and deliberately.
From Huntington Beach, the idea branches outward like; the surviving Lahaina community banyan tree. Where friends and ohana gather, connecting people who share those same values wherever they may be.
🌺Some arrive looking for connection.
🌺Others arrive looking for direction.
🌺Many eventually discover they’re capable of building meaningful communities of their own.
That’s the purpose and ‘calling’ behind Surf-Connection;
🌺helping people reconnect locally
🌺contribute organically, and create communities built on trust rather than noise.
