Surf-Connection is where the ohana gather. Not unlike the Lahaina Banyan Tree in the kingdom of Hawai’i on the island of Maui.
Surf-Connection is a living network of people, relationships, shared experiences, and communities that continue to grow through trust, service, and meaningful conversations.
Like the great banyan trees and palms a Pacific archipelago, every community begins with a single seed.
Over time, that seed grows through the people who choose to show up, support one another, and create something larger than themselves.

We welcome everyone! Everyone begins in “Exactly the same place.”
Once you ‘Navigate’ yourself through the ‘Mudroom,’ you will have “Earned” and ‘Shown your Stripes.”‘ You can then step-up to the “Sidebar” Off-the-Lanai and join others in the ohana— as a “Traveler,” inside the community.
There are no shortcuts. Only relationships.

What Does “Ohana” Mean?
ʻOhana is a Hawaiian word commonly translated as family, but its meaning reaches deeper.
It reflects relationships built through shared experience, mutual respect, responsibility, and belonging.
Many cultures express similar ideas through clans, extended families, neighborhoods, military units, first responder agencies, crews, churches, and lifelong friendships.
We are stronger together.
At Surf-Connection, we use the Ohana Tree as a symbol of that spirit — with respect for its Hawaiian origins and appreciation for the universal value of human connection.
