Why is it called the Mudroom?
TurnerUX incorporates a Mudroom: A transitional entrance where people can pause, remove wet or dirty outerwear, and prepare to enter the main living space. system in the passageway between the Porte-cochère: A covered vehicle entrance attached to a building. It shelters passengers as they arrive or depart. and the main entrance.
The Mudroom intercepts confusion at the entrance and gives visitors a place to pause, get their bearings, and decide where they would like to go next.
Life taught me that not everyone arrives knowing exactly where they’re headed.
Some people are looking for information. Some are looking for belonging. Some are looking for a fresh start. Others are simply curious.
Too many websites assume visitors already know what they want. Life doesn’t always work that way.
I wanted to create a place for people who are still figuring that out.

Surf-Connection did not begin as a social network or collection of websites. It grew from a lifetime spent noticing how people help one another—beside the roadway, along the shoreline, across a neighborhood and within families.
Each branch begins with something useful. A photograph may restore a name. A Pass-On may prevent a collision. A neighborhood observation may connect the person who noticed with someone prepared to help. A recorded voice may preserve part of a family’s living story.
